Philosophy and Beliefs

We believe... The Pacific Northwest Alumni of Foster Care believes that the loss of family through foster care is a traumatic experience and that children of foster care deserve support and guidance during their time of distress.

We call for urgency, justice and hope... It is also our belief that it would be unjust to delay implementing effective interventions that would give children in foster care hope for a better life and future today.

We seek collaboration... Finally, it is our belief that the Pacific Northwest Alumni of Foster Care cannot help address the specific needs of children in foster care without collaboration. We believe that collaborations with community, state, and national organizations and individuals that share the same attitude and desire will enable us, together, to improve the experiences of childhood and quality of adulthood of those in and from foster care.
